Yeah, I can change it from the front of the scanner. I will have to open up the laptop tomorrow and read the scanner and change it that way. Should I use one of the custom band plans as mentioned above so I only have to do this once?

Since the CSP doesn't have any splinter channels from 854-861 (channels ending in 0), you will only need a simple two line bandplan once the system is completely done.
851.0250 854.0000 25khz step 440 offset
851.0125 868.9875 25khz step 0 offset

There are several ways to set it up. The easiest has the same set of talkgroups for the entire system. Make a CSP system (800 Motorola) and then make a site for each Zone (Motorola Custom) with the rebanded frequencies. Each site has the frequencies for that Zone and a copy of the custom bandplan. The talkgroups are shared by all the Sites.

Just to make sure I have it correct...

The following CSP sites have rebanded:

Troops B, D, and H - Already updated in the database
Troops E and F - have rebanded, but the database update is pending

Thanks to everyone for keeping us all up to speed on these changes.
Thanks,

When redoing the band plan, you have to make a new band plan up for each site and that band plan can not be done until the site has been rebanded, correct?

By the way you can enter the custom band plan in the radio in advance of the site being rebanded. The radio will still work as long as you keep the old frequencies in there. And add the new rebanded frequencies (15 mhz. lower for all of them) to the list also and you will be ready when your site switches over.

Hey import,

LOL. I was in West Haven getting my recalled air compressor from sears last week and did hear 868.9125 loud and clear on 95 a bit. Must be a fill in site down there somewhere? I get it sometimes up here in Shelton.

I was able to use win 96 with my old serial cable on my old 99hp running windows 2000 like a breeze! Wish they would install an undo feature as I accidentally set all the frequencies in order from 0-49 LOL. Always keep a master template to work off of. I have a master original and master rebanded temp now. Thing downloads in 30 and uploads in bout 2 minutes. Zone 2 seems to be overridding 1 up here on booth hill road tower. Maybe cuz 2 is a little stronger. Oh yeah. with win96 you have to reband each bank. I have to go back in and set extended frequencies and do that before the 30 days are up! Anyone know of good freeware to use after the 30 days for the pro 96?

Thanks again all. Have a good weekend.

If your using Win96 and it's working for you and you like it, why don't you just register it?

@cg

I'm using the 800 rebanded setting on win96. Hmmm. It seems to be working though as I said it seems to be going back to z1 868.3125 even though z2 853.7500 is open. Now when I lo 2 it seems to be doing ok on 853.7500. Will experiment and let you know. I may have to change it as you said above.

Thanks dude. Time to get outside!

There is no fill in site with that frequency, it is still being used for Site 06, C&K, and you were, in all probability, hearing that.

Completed so far:
Site 01, Troop G
Site 04, Troop B
Site 05, Troop F
Site 07, Troop D
Site 08, Troop E
Site 09, Troop H (and W)

Sites w/ 866-868 channels still to be done:
Site 02, Troops A&I
Site 06, Troops C&K
Site 11, IR Site, Troop L
Site 16, IR Site Troop B

I was just curious now how the reception is now for anybody listening in on the road with the rebanded frequencies? Has the Nextel interference been reduced from the new frequencies now being used?

My experience is that there is no difference and in fact, it is worse in some cases. With a Nextel site only 1/4 mile away, I have always experienced interference issues with regard to 800 MHz.
Two things to consider. Nextel has been allowed to remain on frequencies 854-861 until 866-869 is cleared but only on a non interfering basis. Secondly, last indication I heard was that Sprint still intends to shutdown the Nextel network at some point in the not too distant future.

At my location in Newington, I have mainly been testing the new H frequencies and I would say it's a little better. Nothing amazingly better yet, but I need to test more to get a better feel.
I have 2 nextel sites that are close to me so I was hoping this would be a very noticeable difference but we'll see how it goes.
I also monitor the C and K frequencies so once they switch over it will be even more of a test.
Thanks...

I also meant to post that there was ITAC/ICALL activity at the end of the week. My guess is that it was related to rebanding those channels.
I did not copy any testing on the new frequencies but there was someone asking for a site to be activated. After several hours, it would be shut off. There were several sites done on each Thursday and Friday.

Last week I did a trip from Mass. to Milford CT via I-84, I-91 and I-95. Usually I get terrible reception of Troops H and G at numerous locations from Hartford to Milford. For this trip reception was much, much better. Whether it's rebanding or some other changes they made I can't say.

BTW I'm using a BCD396XT with a mag mount Larsen antenna on the roof.

I have noticed an improvement on the troop F site 5 system. 853.5625
But I have noticed a reduction in signal on the Troop E site 853.3375. I used to het it strong enough to actually track the system when it was on 868.3375. Now I can only hear E on the C&K site- 868.9125
The other rebanded sites are about the same to me as before.
I use a BCD396XT and a Pro-106 with a GRE Super Amplifier in line on the Pro-106
