Something to think about when receiving signals, is that now that the trees are blooming the signals may not be as strong.

Yes that is why you are not getting them. Go back a couple of pages in this thread and there is instructions on how to reprogram your radio for the rebanding.

Im trying to program a psr-600 and it took me a while to program it the first time because I dont do this often. And I'm doing it for someone else who is less clueless than me. All I want is to put in Troop G. Do I have to use software to reprogram the rebanded frequencies or can I just enter all the info myself into the unit? I tried dropping down the freqs. 15 mhz and got a little talk but it was brief. I dont understand the custom band plans, are those examples made with the software or something that needs to be done? Sorry to sound dumb but I miss the days when you enter a freq. and just listen! Thanks for any help.

I have a 996T. I entered the new band plan values and entered the new primary control channel for Troop K 853.9125. Tonight one of there transmissions picked up on 851.4375. I heard only one side on the conversation. The other side sounded like an open mic. But the trooper was having a conversation. Any idea? Did I need to change some thing? Never had this problem before the reband.

Thank you for responding. I am very new to this and and have no idea where to find "system type" on the scanner. I uploaded the CSP site to BCD 396xt using freeware and RR website. I am clueless from this point on. Does anyone like to tutor newbees? Thanks agin for your response.

Sounds like a private call. With the majority of them, you will hear only one side of the conversation.

Zone 1 site 2 is done as of this afternoon. The CC is 852.700.

@ems170. I have Zone/Site02 on 853.3125 here in Shelton coming off the booth hill tower.

@the28truck. I believe you need to update your firmware and then try again. You may need some freeware or something like arc996 to reband that radio. Not sure as I don't own a 996. Was too expensive 6 years ago to buy. So went with Pro96 Are you still having troulbe hearing 7216 Kdisp or 7248 kcar? Look also for 3216/3248 edisp and 2416/2448 ddisp/dcar. they should be on there too. If you're hearing both sides of the conversation than you're ok. If not check pg 20 as said above. Don't forget, they could just not be busy. I would wait till mothers day when people are hitting the road to mommy's to really test it!

Hey all,

Z1 853.7500 and Z2 853.3125 (as of 4pm yesterday, now a carrier on 852.7000) here off the booth hill tower in shelton coming in fine so far with win96 800 rebanding setting for the pro96. 852.7000 could have just been in testbackup mode as they were talking on 16048 most of the day yesterday stating Middlebury ch3 done sometown ch3 done and so forth on 868.3125. Probably didn't want any users to loose comms during the transition. I've noticed some drop in signal as well on rt8 in both 1 and 2. Maybe some maintenence needs to still be done.

I would wait till this weekend which is mother's day to really test as I said before because more people will be going to mom's house for dinner and going out to dinner and such. Or just get a warm night when all the motorcycles are out and about riding. That's when you can really get a good test.

Peace and thanks all,
shawn

I have the latest firmware for the 996T, 3.02.00. I hear all the troops just fine on all troop K channels. Its just when they talk on 851.4375. Most of the time its fine. But every now and then I only hear on side of the conversation. Not all the time. Today it happened 5 times. Its open dead air for a few seconds followed by a squelch. I'm gonna hook it up to the free scan software this weekend and try to reprogram it again.

You can do anything you want manually or with software. I suggest Win500, others will say Arc500 or other programs. You can manually enter information, it's time consuming, but you'll know how to do it on the fly. Just jot down what you want, I also suggest this: Easier to Read Pro-106/197/PSR500/600 Digital Scanner Manual
Also follow along in this particular thread for what you are looking for and you'll get the hang of it.

Yes programming software makes it easier but I like to learn my way through my scanner and do it all manually as much as I can. That way I can program on the fly, swap V-folders, modify and edit objects, etc.

The last two CSP sites that needed rebanding are done, Sites 11 & 16. This leaves the two ERV's (13 & 14) and site 18 (a site seen only as a neighbor) that haven't been documented.

so are the remaining sites just going to drop by 15 mhz or are there going to be new freqs for some of them? also, i know troop g was playing around with some 700 mhz channels a few months ago. what happened to those? were they actually thinking of going to 700 or were those just so cars down county could talk to stamford pd?

"The last two CSP sites that needed rebanding" as in there are no others that need to be done with the exceptions as noted.

Rebanding is 866-869 channels dropping down 15MHz. If it is not 866-869 but is 854-860, it isn't moving. This is nothing new that hasn't been posted over and over again.

Any 700MHz system is totally unrelated. It is an overlay system that may have patched talkgroups between systems.

Why would UniTrunker have a problem with that channel? TRUNK88 works fine on it, the scanners work fine on it.
