Been playing around with the calculator on a couple of talkgroups that I've
been able to confirm had to move to different talkgroups.
It appears that talkgroups that were roughly above 57000 have been shifted
down by decimal 8816.
For example:
Hitchcock FD was on 59312 - 8816 = now on 51904
city? jail was on 59984 - 8816 = now on 51168
data bursts was on 62672 - 8816 = now on 53024

So maybe it is that simple.

See what happens if you listen to 52736 (61552-8816) for Tiki Island FD.
I never did hear Tiki Island PD on 61488 on the old system.
Do Bayou Vista and Tiki Island share PD and FD talkgroups?
Who dispatches them, GCSO or Dickinson?

What does Hitchcock FD 60720 translate to? It's not just a decimal subtraction apparently.

Tiki Island is dispatched by Galveston County SO. Bayou Vista has been dispatched by both the SO and Hitchcock, I am not sure who is dispatching them right now, but if I were a betting man I would guess it was the Sheriff’s Office. Tiki and Bayou Vista have there own talkgroups, although I am sure you can here them on each others on a regular basis as they work together quite a bit or at least used to.

I did some map searching this morning to find the exact location of the Dickinson StarNet tower. As it turns out it just a stone's throw from my house! (abt 3 miles) No wonder I hear it so well!

I goofed on that talkgroup.
60720-8816=51904 that is what Hitchcock FD is using.
59312-8816=50496 which is what Bacliff/San Leon FD/EMS is using.

Many folks call the Alvin site "Dickinson". It is actually in Galveston
County and not in either city limits.
I call it Alvin because the two ways indicate "AL" when tuned to that site.
It's about 2 miles east of the city limits of Alvin, across the street from
the city limits of League City, and about 3 miles west of city limits of
Dickinson.
They probably started calling it Dickinson since Alvin is in Brazoria County
and the site is in Galveston County.

Alvin is easier to say anyway.

Looking at the control channel data, it appears the secondary control
channel for the Texas City site 18 is not 868.0625 but now 868.800 MHz.
Can anyone with a real 2-way STAR-Net radio find out what the aliases
(2-letter designation) are for Texas City, Galveston, Freeport, Ames,
Hempstead, Richmond and Tamina are?

If there is something specific please feel free to bring it to our attention, much like you would say something there if you saw something here of interest to the Houston community. I would imagine that most people on this forum (in the Houston area) belong to Myle's list and that most members of the HoustonScan list are RR members.
