Re: Spectrum Communications System Kitchener

wondering if anyone else has this problem. I seem to miss a lot of the conversations and hearing the same groups on different Id's. I've reprogramed the bank several times. according to RRDatabase it's just a regular smartnet sys.
what am I doing wrong?
Thanks

That is usually an indication that you are missing a freq.
I see eight as per the database. Are they all there and are they entered correctly ?

http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=2162

Or... perhaps a new freq. has been added as of late.

...same groups, different ID's
which talk group ID's are problematic,I mean what does the RR Database have listed and what TG's are you logging?

Sorry for the questions , but sometimes the basics are over-looked and create problems. :(

When monitoring 4 different fast food and liquor del. services, I find each of them using at laest 2 difernt Id's sometimes in the same conversation.
I've cheched TAFL for new freq's but none, last updated Nov 01-04.Have entered freq's in same order as RRD and also with control ch. first, still the same thing. Have also searched with the scanner in same freq. range and found no new freq's

If you've set it up as a Type-II system (which the database shows) and you see different IDs within the same message, it's a sure sign that you're seeing a Type-I talkgroup. I was in K-W back in June and noticed the CC and some VCs but unfortunately didn't have time/resources to go much further.

A fleetmap for the system would need to be figured out. Obviously some blocks are Type-II. My suggestion is, write down every ID that's associated with each user that shows this behaviour. This will identify which blocks are Type-I. Post them here if you like. Figuring out fleetmaps is a challenge and you would need every bit of data you can gather. Further details if you want them.
