Probably a really stupid question, but I've been trying for two days now. I've had a bcd436hp for almost a week now.
Programmed a few favorites lists which have worked ok. When I try to "read from scanner", on Sentinel or Proscan, everything seems to work fine.
But when it says "finished reading from scanner", there is nothing populated in the favorites list. What am I doing wrong? I have two profiles and
have tried both. Still get nothing. Trying to learn Proscan, Sentinel, and the scanner all at once is mindboggling... Thanks for any help!

First, pick one SW to learn first (either one) then get that down and learn the other.

Did you write the FL to the scanner in the first place? Does that FL show in the scanner?

I did write it to the scanner. Assumed that was what I was listening to. Looks like what
is running when watching the scanner. Maybe I'm missing something. I will look. Thanks.

If. when you "read the scanner" into Sentinel or ProScan, you get nothing uploaded, then it sounds like you are only scanning via the main database, plus your location and range.

Have you actually created any Favorites lists? If so, is your profile (in Sentinel) set to download them to the scanner? I suspect that's a no, since when you read from the scanner to software, you are not really pulling something into the software.

When you "write to the scanner", even if you have no Favorites lists created, the software is still sending any updates for the main database, as well as any additions or corrections for enabled service types, plus, of course, your entered location & range settings.

I have monitor and download both set to on. I'll just start over and try again. Thanks.

If you have created a Favorites list, and have it set to use Location Control, be sure that you have your correct location & range set. Also, if using location, on a list, if you enter a system manually, but don't add locations for the Departments & Sites, that "blank" location is treated as in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Africa. So, any system missing that info is ignored if location control is in use.

However, appending a system from the main database (in Sentinel), or using software such as ProScan to import systems from the database (you're a premium subscriber), the location data is filled in, so location control works.

I wasn't using location control. Might try that also. I have a lot to learn...
