Hi all,

Do you think it's really necessary to purchase a digital scanner for Morris, Somerset and Union counties of NJ? I see some services use digital systems but not all. I will be purchasing a new scanner and the GRE PSR-310 and PSR-500 look good, but want to save if the digital services are not needed any time soon.

Thanks so much for your help.

Yep, the Morris TRS is 98% digital, and when it goes P25, it will be all digital. Same thing with the Somerset County TRS - about 85% analog now, but not by the end of the year when they finish their P25 conversion...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows Phone OS 7.5; Trident/5.0; IEMobile/9.0; HTC; mwp6985))

PSR-800 if you want to listen to the 700MHz system when it eventually goes TDMA.

Union County has only 1 police or fire that is digital and that's Cranford Police. All other 21 cities/towns police and fire are regular analog.
But even with that my next scanner will be digital because then i'll be ready in case the others go Digital.
