I think we can clear up alot of the confusion about bandplans used in our various radios (and Unitrunker) with some background on the Rebanded 800Mhz spectrum. (If you just don't care....I don't blame you, but it is really pretty easy)

First lets look at how the FCC set up the 800 Mhz band. (see diagram below) As you can see ALL frequencies between 851 Mhz and 854 Mhz are for Public Safety EXCLUSIVLY. Each of these channels has assigned a LCN (logical channel number) by Motorola. There is 12.5 Khz spacing but the LCNs are interleaved.
The way it works out is:

851.0125 LCN0
851.0250 LCN440
851.0375 LCN1
851.0500 LCN441
851.0625 LCN2
851.0750 LCN442
and so on to
853.9875 LCN119
854.0000 LCN559
The interleaving stops at this point and only the frequencies ending in xxx.xxx5 are then allocated to Public Safety. The ones ending in xxx.xxx0 are allocated to other services on a shared spectrum basis.
854.0125 LCN120
854.0375 LCN121
854.0625 LCN122
and so on to
861.9875 LCN 439

All of UCANs frequencies fall in this range.

As you can see from the chart below 860-861 is an expansion band, 861-862 is a guard band.
Salt Lake AC33 System has frequencies up to 860.9625 (notice ending in a 5). If you read the small print below the chart it states that systems already in these bands could stay. This is the case with the SLPD/FD system.
So.....I beleive the 2 line bandplan below will work with ANY rebanded system and some of the existing systems if they have no frequencies above 862 Mhz. (which under rebanding, they shouldn't).

Lo Channel/Hi Channel/Offset/Base Freq./Step (Khz)
0/439/0/851.0125/25.00
440/559/440/851.0250/25.00

I hope this helps clear up the confusion about rebanding bandplans....remember it is just a lookup table to send your rig to the frequency the traffic is on.

Band Plan

I agree completely, and I think the links listed below agree as well.

.....After rebanding the only valid public safety freq are the 0-559.
So after rebanding you only need the first two lines.
The other five lines are to support systems that have been rebanded as well as those that have not at the same time.

....I am 99.999% confident that you can now just enter the 1st 2 lines of the new band plan.
That covers all LCN's below 560 and all freqs below 862 Mhz.
The .001% confidence I am missing is just because I would like to hear someone else agree.

A question?

Now how do you place this in unitrunker? Can you explain or connect me with a link that explain the steps? Thanks
