I Have Read Alot On The Movement Too 700 Mhz , Anyone Live Where This Has Taken Place And If So How Do the Scanners Work With The New System.. I See Some Scanners Will Have Too Be Flashed Too Get The Frequencys,

Also Noticed That 764 - 775.9875 Is The Public Service Band Then Jumpes Too 794-805.9875. This Will Be The Alocated Band Change I Figure. I"am In Canada And Were Following Your Change So I"am Thinking When It Comes My BCD 296D Flashed Will Be Ok But the BCD-785D Looks Grim.

I Would Imagine Theres Bugs Too Be Ironed Out But Anyone Useing The 700Mhz Bands Find It Better Worse Or Too Earlie Too Say ?

Thanks And If You Do Use The 700Mhz Band Mention The Scanner You Use...And If It Had Any Troubles...

Thanks ..........

Tea, please don't capitalize every word. It makes it very hard to read...

2 things here...

a. Rebanding in the US and the migration to 700 mhz are two very different things. They are not related. This is a very common misconception.

b. Older scanners cannot be 'reflashed' to cover this band; it's not as simple as that. If the scanner isn't built to scan and receive in this band, it can't do it with reflashing. In addition, most older scanners cannot trunktrack in this band, even if they can receive these frequencies conventionally. Since you're in the Uniden forum, the first scanners that can do 700 is the BCD396T and BCD996T.

700 isn't everywhere yet, so it's real early to say whether all scanners will work smoothly in this band. This migration isn't going to happen overnight; it's going to take a period of years before it's even close to complete.

The new San Diego testing P25 trunked 700MHz system has the following freqs:

769.30625 769.80625 770.30625 770.80625 771.48125c

Those step sizes are too small for my 396T, does the XT or any other models in development cover this range?

And so is PG county Maryland, although their system won't be fully monitorable
