I am not going to get into flaming here. So, I think everyone here would appreciate the cessation of negative posts. Maybe try a sentence like..."You sound concerned about rebanding Ron? What are your concerns?" We are here to support each other and learn. There are still a handful of people who make snide remarks and criticize posts. Nevertheless:

I have followed Ron's posts and if I am correct on this he has a lot of good trunking epuipment that cannot be flash upgraded when rebanding hits. And, I know he is a retiree who doesn't have a lot of dough to throw around for new stuff. And, when rebanding does occur we don't know what the time line will be for those flash/upgrades to be available.

I believe Ron's point was that the rebanding prep has begun and he is probably looking to see where else it is happening. Radio manufacturers and public safety won't be calling GRE and Uniden to advise when agencies "will be flipping the switch". For the AVID, DAILY listener......like I think we all are, it can and most likely will affect our listening. Even if it is briefly. Ron also became aware of "rebanding shuffle" technology that Motorola will use to render trunking scanners useless for Motorola trunking if agencies decide to go that route.

YOU GO RON!!!!! You are a credit to your local HAM community, the local scanner clubs and boards, and you have a lot to offer.
