rebanding

i have saw time tables for rebanding and it says illinois is part of wave 1

wave 1 is done via the time tables

is this ture is rebanding for chicago land area done or still to happen yet>?

Its still COMING, this week on the "Ill midwest grants" the new license for Will Co on dropping all there freqys 15mgz has appeared, they will be reprogramming there radios soon...Im hearing Starcom users having to bring in there radios also....

back in the day i had a no trunking 800 MHz radio that i programed all the freqs for a trunked system and every day i would lock out the CC

once rebanding happenes can i do that with non rebandable radios??

Yes, on small systems you may get by doing this but if there are many users on the system you get side tracked by maybe the FD or PW's ....If your in Elgin that may work as its a small system....
