The entire nation is being rebanded, so that includes your state. It will effect all systems with frequencies between 851 and 854 MHz and 866 to 869 MHz. You can find information on the other rebanding string, no need to start another one here.
Actually, it will affect ALL 800mhz trunked systems even if they are not within those frequencies ranges. That is because the channels will be renumbered for the whole band. This affects the way the control channel assigns frequencies on all systems, new radios (with the new numbering plan) vs. old, etc.

like NJ says the 855 to 860 frequencies and there are 70 allocated to public safety are not rebanded. The 860 will have a choice of moving if they wish as they are in the guard band. I doubt if many will move.

Then what happens when all the channels are renumbered (fcc channel numbers) and they want to add a new portable or mobile to their system? It will not work because the channel numbering is wrong. Somewhere along the line everybody is going to need to upgrade their firmware to the new numbering plan regardless if they are in the affected ranges or not. It really creates quite a nightmare of old vs. new equipment.
Well, if they do it like Uniden plans, the radios will support both the old and new channelization.
The statewide system for LA will be rebanded as a lot of the freqs for the repeaters are 866 MHz and above.. so yes LA will be affected.. but also note, after rebanding, and after full approval and funding, LATIE will change it again to a fully digital 700 MHz system. As noted, initially this will be a combination 700/800 till everything is figured out... Plans are set for initial prep and tower transition, and new tower construction within 2 years at the latest.... but you never know for sure when you deal with state government... weg

We're on a regional 800MHz TRS at work. Because we're in the first region of the US that will be rebanded, all the works are underway for our changes.
In our jurisdiction, only nine of our 24 800MHz freq's will have to changed. The neighboring city will have to reband all 25 of it's freq's, and the neighboring county will not have to reband anything except it's talk-around freq's.
The bad part about this is the 8000 radios on our regional system that have to be re-flashed! :?
