The list that I have shows Abington is the PSAP for Abington - it also shows that Hanson is the PSAP for Hanson

What does Lynn Fire Alarm count as? Lynn, Nahant and Swampscott FDs.

This is a list of MA PSAPs, not RECCs. Most of the regional fire dispatch centers are not on this list because they are not primary PSAPs. Upton is a regional PSAP but not a RECC.

I would take RECC being a regional dispatch center, I know a few people that work in some of the centers you list and while they might take the 911 for a town it does not necessarily mean they voice dispatch that town.
We have some in NY/NJ the psap answers the 911 and then transfers the call to the dispatch center.
Under your rules every Fire/EMS/PD department would be dispatched by 1 place in NH LOL

Abington Fire is part of Holbrook RECC
Hanson Police / Fire is part if Duxbury RECC ( ROCCC = Regional Old Colony Communications Center )
Holbrook also dispatches Canton and Sharon Fire. Hanson was a recent change, so maybe the list wasn't updated for it?

Lynn dispatches for their own city plus Swampscott and Nahant. All three are part of District 5 Essex County Mutual Aid System.

Lynn Fire is also part of Metro Fire Mutual Aid System

They are not labeled as a regional center

This is great, but my original question still isn't answered. What are they considered?

At this point, For now all it takes is 2 towns to be considered a " Combined Center" Down the road it will be a State Mandate. We will see.

Which part will be the state mandate? That RECCs have to be utilized? I think Beverly might have something to say about that, not to mention Boston, Worcester and Springfield.

Quincy, Cambridge, Fall River, New Bedford as well. Probably some others as well.

I feel he was pondering the few Town-Town [roll up the street at 4pm] coverings to be called an RECC
I don't think there are many of those left - Groton/Dunstable is one and then one in lower Worcester [Millville ?]

The plan the State has is to reduce the 300 plus PSAPS by 1/4 down the road due to combining is really nothing new,,But being Massachusetts i dont see it happening anytime soon. You will probaly see more combined centers of two or three towns getting together to create their "RECC' to comply with the States idea.

351 cities and towns in MA, and given their way each would have it's own PD, FD, and PSAP. MA is decades behind most of the country in consolidation of public safety.
