Reccomendations for 800mhz mobile?

Yeah, the Larsen NMO 150-450-800, right?

That should work just fine. It'll easily hold a larger antenna, say if you ever decided to put an NMO-27 CB antenna on there, it's good to go.

I've been using almost exclusively Larsen for work and most of my personal stuff. I've got antennas that are 25 years old that are still working great. Spending the extra few bucks will pay off in the long run. A minor amount of periodic maintenance will have the antenna and mount easily outlasting your car.

Ordered I can not wait to have better reception! also side question, does having it in the door jam vs holy in the roof decrease reception ?

Yes, slightly. And I think you are talking about antenna mounting location, right?

Center of the vehicle roof top gives it the best ground plane (although at 800MHz you only need about 3 inches around the antenna base.

Routing the coax cable through door jamb, if that is what you were talking about, will eventually lead to cable damage due to being pinched. Permanent NMO mount will aways work best.
