My Pro 96 was sent back to Radio Shack a few years ago for refurbishing when it developed issues receiving. Back then I had taken it apart and saw some issues inside such as a loose antenna connection.

I'm having issues again. Opening it up reveals nothing I can see as obviously wrong. Wondering of its time to send it back for a 50,000 mile tune up or just bite the bullet and buy a new scanner. She was working like a charm until recently.

Not much to go on here. 'Receiving Issues' covers a heckuva lot of ground. More specifics please

The Radio Shack repair process is still the same as before... pay a $20 estimate fee, wait a few weeks for a response, and the $20 is applied towards the repair if you choose to do so.

If it has served you well, I'd invest $20 in it. It may just be another BNC fix which is relatively cheap. That's the weakest point of these radios. I've also heard stories of Radio Shack applying the $20 to the purchase of a new unit in lieu of repair.
