Reception choppy on BCD396T

I am a newbie to the BCD396T. I have programmed the freqs using the freescan software and it works really well. My only problem is, when the scanner talks, there is about 4 seconds of talk then there is a quiet period for about 2 seconds then the talking continues. Is this a glitch in the firmware or can this be fine tuned? Or do I have something screwed up? Thanks for any help you can give.

sounds like you have some kind of priority enabed.you might want to double check your settings.

Also check battery save is off Close Call is off both of these cause speech to be interupted.

I have checked these settings, and all are off. Priority channels, battery saver, and close call. I am still getting interrupted speech. Any other ideas?

Weather priority was the propblem. Is this a default setting with the FreeSCAN? Sorry I didn't find it in the previous posts. Thanks for the help guys.

Battery save should not "interrupt" reception.
