reception problem with 197

I can use the antenna that came with the 197 and it picks up ohio marcs fine but when I hook up my outside scantenna antenna it does not pick up ohio marcs or if it does it is real in and out tranmissions. Anybody have that problem. I have a pro 2096 and the scantenna works great on ohio marcs on the 2096.

the 197 may be picking MARCS up too well. the 197 is very hot and prone to front end overload. try enabling the attenuator when using the ScanTenna and see if that helps.
