Is it normal or do you think I can fix this. I receive a transmission but most of the time mid way through it , it stops and then continues with the rest of the message. This causes me to miss some stuff and it seems as though it is on purpose from the system.??

Steve, you did not identify what receiver you were using. If it was a scanner, check to see if possibly the settings allow for occasionally checking a preset frequency or NOAA weather? That could cause intermittent breaks as it goes over to check the other frequency and then returns.
