I have both the 250d and the 785d and both are programmed with the Connecticut state police. The question I have is when I carry my handheld with me in the car and have the 785d which is my mobile and both are on it seems that in certain areas the portable will pick up a transmission of a programmed troop but the mobile won,t.
Can anyone explain this to me? :?:

i have a 785d and i have noticed that it is INCREDIBLY sensitive to the squelch settings, not to mention it is just plain ol' sluggish at decoding the digital signal. I'm not sure where i saw it, but i do recall somehting about the 785d just not being all it's cracked up to be on the digital side of things.

and, i'd get information about that antenna install. that'd be the likely culprit. ...then the squelch settings.

the squelch is the secondary knob on the volume / on off knob. it's the outer ring. it's finnicky as all hell, and it sets the radio wide squelch settings
