I need recommendations for a decent portable 100-200 channel Radio Shack scanner. My county is still running UHF/VHF, so I do not need a trunking or 800 MHz scanner. Thanks!

Edit: an older model is fine.

Hey, Dave you do know you posted this is the Uniden not RS sub-forums.

You can look for a RS Pro-104 for under $100

I do now. LOL. I didn't have my coffee when I posted this. I'm sure a moderator will move it. I will check that out. Thanks, King.

Yeah, that's nice too. A lot to choose from. I'm also looking at the PRO-404. That seems to have everything I need. Going to take my time and do some research.

I have been doing a lot of looking and think I have decided that I really like the Uniden Bearcat BC125AT. I think the feature that has me sold is the alpha-tagging. Being in a vehicle, it would be nice to just be able to look down and see what I am listening to as opposed to just a channel number. I think I am sold on this one.

I bought the BC125AT a few weeks ago and love it. The inputting of the alpha tagging is easy to get a hang of. I've entered about 60 frequencies manually and never felt it was a hassle. Another thing I like about the scanner is that it has a nice layout and is not difficult to use. I bought a RadioShack telescoping antenna for it and it works great. The stock antenna is pretty good too and you won't miss any of the action. The price is great. I picked it up new on e-bay for just $114 shipped.

I don't use any batteries anymore by getting a Motorola micro-USB wall charger and car charger. Worth the money to go that route! I got them on amazon along with an AUX cable to listen to the scanner through my speakers.
