I’ve been using the HP-1 for years, and like how easy it is to program. I’m looking for a recommendation on a hand held scanner to have in the car to monitor MARRS & KSICS. Would I be better off just getting another HP scanner

Any suggestion, pros or cons would be helpful

I have an HP-2 that I use while mobile. It sits on my dash when I am in the car with a windshield mount. Easy to operate, the display is nice and clear, and the internal speaker is adequate. In my opinion the perfect mobile scanner.

I really like my BCD325P2 handheld. It receives P25 (phase 1 &2) systems my HP-2 will not receive at all..

Jim-

I would like to second the vote for the 325. Even better, I already have the entire KSICS system (minus the boring crap) downloaded in my 996p2 so the programming part of it is taken care of (for the most part).

I tabled the ideal on getting a handheld for while, but with all the traveling I'm doing in recent weeks, I need one now.

I've been using my HP-1, it works good, however, the volume while driving really stinks.

I'm wondering how is the volume, and signal pick strengths are on the BCD325P2 is with a stock antenna?

I welcome your comments.

It's not going to blow you away. I recommend you getting a 3.5MM cable and connect your scanner to your car's AUX audio jack instead.
