I've read here on RR that the SDS series do not handle all simulcast systems without any issues either. This is not my opinion, it's from actual users of both the SDS100 & SDS200.
Simulcast isn't the problem, it's interference from cell towers and the like. Like the guy in California who has difficulty with cellular interference because the scanner antenna is on the same tower as the cell transmitter.

Interesting how some will tout a "return policy" from businesses, like they are supposed to be a "trial period. -That is NOT what that is for.

This is detrimental to businesses, costs them time and money, most of the time, it can't be re-sold as new, and is how policies get changed.

This sort of abuse of policies is not ethical.

And the SDS series, as well as the Unication series, are both designed with "New technology" to help overcome simulcast distortion. Other than a real portable radio, those are the only current series of scanners / monitors there is, unless you go laptop / software route.

Or you can take a couple of other's opinions, and just grab something, and hope it works.

(Again, the O.P. already has an SDS100, why not tote it with him?)

Finally, someone agrees with me. I have floated this idea a couple times.

As a small business owner, this is a big issue for us. It could eliminate small retailers and leave us with no choices but Amazon and Walmart.

How many times has the blue vested super store employee answered tech support questions?

If a product doesn't perform up to expectations, a return is the only remedy.
Who said a 325P2 was "up to expectations"? That's what we are trying to get across to you.

If you are expecting something that works with Simulcast, and has filters to help the over-population of radio interference, then the 325P2 isn't it.

He needs something with "Current technology" ;)

Like here.

Expectations are often based on unrealistic notions, only specifications can be quantified. Expectations are not the retailer's responsibility.

The context here is using return period as try before buying, not warranty issues.

Warranty is between manufacturer and buyer. Retailers may or may not assist with issues here.

Wow, this thread derailed starting on Saturday. The OP hasn't been on since posting.
Why, why, why, do threads like this devolve into arguing about simulcast?? He asked a simple question, and all of the Undone fanboys swarm with all of their comments. None of which answer his question.

There is a 396T for sale in the RR sale forum. It will work fine for what he wants.
That's the choice he should make.

I got a ws1088 practically brand new off eBay for under 180 two weeks ago. Whistler's EZ Scan software is a POS. Stick with Uniden if you can.
