1080 what is the approximate record time with a 2G, 4G and 8G card?

Plus how are the files organized to channel and each transmission?

What are you capturing! Audio, video, both - what bit rate for either, is there any compressions happening - it's all part of the equation.

It depends on how many channels your recording.

In 6mos I wasn't able to fill up a 16gb card with about 6 channels recording 24/7

They are organized any way you sort them, time, channel, alpha tag etc.

Thank you Wackyracer; That kind of gives me a ballpark figure. About the only time I would record scanner traffic is when a local disaster with only a few channels involved. And if I was not able to stay and monitor activity personally.

I was sure the 4G card I have will last many days not just hours. I guess I best record something and get acclimated before I finds a need.

Thanks again.
