I have try to record on 1 channel through the record slot behind the unit and went to that channel and put record on. I use audio recording programing nothing comes up with recording when talking than I take the plug out and put in the audio slot and it records that way. I don't have the 996pro I have the basic software.....

In the ARC996T software, highlight the system you want to record from, and in the General Tab, go to record and select all, or from the scanner hit..
1)menu
2) program system
3)select what system you want to record
4)scroll to Edit sys option
5)scroll to set record and set it for All Channels

I have got that part about record channel. I want to record 1 channel and sit on it too. It does but it will not record through the green*record* output. It will work if I put the plug in the headphones to the computer. I do not have the PROARC996T software I have the basic version. I have a recorder software I used from my other radios like 396 pro 92 had a pro 2005.

Sounds like you set the channel option, but the system is still set to not record.
