RECORDING SCANNER CONVERSATIONS

Hi,


I would like to know how to hook the scanner up to your computer, and when the scanner is on, it records the audio to the computer. Can u tell me what I need to do this?

It is very easy. Get some free scanner recorder software,
install, and hook your scanner line output or speaker/headphone
jack to the sound card input on your computer (usually the
line input). The recorder is VOX-triggered so you don't
waste disk space with long periods of nothing. Here is

For scanner audio, you can set the recording to mono/8KHz
which is more than good enough, and keeps disk usage
down.

This is an excellent program to record and log transmissions if you have one of the supported radios.

Basically you need to run audio into your soundcard input and the software will record to files.

Just a regular audio cable with ends that match the scanner and audio card. Probably they will be 'minature' ends.
