I want to record audio transmissions, but I don't know how. scanner is a SDS100. software is ARC536PRO. if it is easier, I also have Sentinel installed.
thank You for your time. appreciate it.
For an integrated recording solution then the scanner "control" software would start and stop recording when squelch opens. I have no knowledge of the SDS100 software base and if this integrated function is available in any SDS100 software package.
If not then I recall researching recording software and there we some that would only start/stop recording on audio level. I can't recall/no record of those software recording programs but they will be better than you manually trying to start/stop recording when you hear something.
To my knowledge the SDS100 (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) does not provide an audio feed over the USB interface. This means that you will have to use the scanner's earphone audio out jack and feed that into your sound card's audio input.
You need to connect the speaker or headphone output to the PC line input using a stereo 1/8" cable. Then the ARC536PRO software will store audio files in the selected folder.
