I'm using the Recording jack on the scanner and having trouble understanding how Proscan and the Menu option of the 996P2 relate to each other? (if they do)
First, I checked Record in the Proscan DB for the channels I wanted to have audio output at the Record jack. This didn't work.
Next using the Menu of the 996P2, I selected Marked channels under the System settings for record, still nothing for the channels checked Record in Proscan.
Selecting All channels in the 996P2 System menu gives me audio at the Record jack but for all channels in the System including those I don't have selected as Record in the Proscan DB.
How do I turn on audio at the Record jack for just the channels I want?

It's done the same way in ProScan as in the scanner menu.

Choose All Channels or Marked Channels at the system level. If Marked Channels then set the Record option at the channel level.
If using ProScan, upload to the scanner afterwards..

You may not have set the Market Channels system option and/or didn't upload to the scanner afterwards.

I am having trouble using the recording jack on the 996P2 and Pro Scan.
I have the scanner programmed thru Pro Scan to record certain channels.
I am using a 3.5 mm stereo cable from the scanner rec jack to my laptop's audio jack running windows 10. The audio device is a Microphone Array (Realtek High Definition audio (SST)).
I have been told that when set to record if I turn the volume all the way down it should still record through the rec jack connection.
When I do this I get no audio from the scanner but get audio in the room from the microphone.

There must be some setting I am not seeing. Frustrating.
Thank you for your help.

Two parts: Easy part 1st.
1) In the ProScan DB, set the system level Record option to Marked Channels" and the channels Record option checked. Upload to the scanner.

2( I'm not familiar with the Microphone Array (Realtek High Definition audio (SST)) and I don't know if it's a combination jack or or what.
Take a look at the Win Mixer settings and see if the default input is set to microhome or Line-In. Take a look at the signal bars in the Mixer. You want the signal bars to move with the scanner audio.

I've seen a couple of other struggle with this same type of problem They ended up purchasing this: USB Sound Adapter
