Trying to add Red Center West dispatch into a pager any idea why it keeps coming up "Spur frequency" has anyone ever added this frequency into a pager just to monitor radio traffic? Or have any other ideas

Also im looking for Gurnee FD's fire tone out pager tones does anyone have the correct information?

Thanks,
Nick

Which freq? RED uses repeaters on 153.215 and 159.660 (they are simulcast) for dispatch purposes and 154.445 for page outs.

As for Gurnee, the latest info I found was 794.3 / 582.1 for Station 1, 794.3 / 977.2 for Station 2 and 524.7 / 1084.0 for Newport FPD. Tones were sent on 151.3250

I tried putting in the 153.215 for red in the pager but it keeps coming up spur frequency? The 159.660 is out of the pagers band split so I can't use that one.

Ah, I get it! 153.215 is one of the known birdie freqs of that radio, right?

Well, then it looks like you are out of luck unless your pager has a method of IF adjustment to eliminate the spur it self generates on that channel.

If you can find the modified "engineer mode" pps out in the wild you can expand the band split to allow you to program in the higher frequency. Might not have great receive specs, but should be able to hear it.

I have the engineering mode software I was thinking of changing the split but didn't think it would be a good idea. The second frequency in the pager is ifern 154.265 so I need the lower band split too. Guess I'm screwed either way.

The version of engineer mode pps I have allows input from I think 146-162 in the mid band vhf pagers.
