AR-DV1 Reference to IF Output

I came across this posting (actually by one of our members) at another website indicating that the DV1 has an "IF output".

I'm guessing that if this was a true IF output such as the ones on the Icom receivers that there may be a lot more chatter about panadapter possibilities through a cheap SDR and appropriate software. What exactly is this IF output and what if anything does it offer?
