TRX-2: Remote Head Problems

I got my TRX-2 this week and have updated all the firmware and databases and loaded my configuration from the EZscan program. From what I can see, there is no setting that is necessary to toggle in the software to allow the remote head to actually be used away from the main body of the radio. My unit will not display anything nor will the keyboard function when attached to the scanner using the supplied interface cable, however the scanner continues to receive traffic and plays the audio. Anyone else have a problem like this or have any idea how to fix it? The primary reason I bought this one is because it has the remote head mounting feature for using it mobile.

Try a spare CAT5 cable you have laying around could be a bad cable should work with up to a 50 foot cat5.

I did that already. Before I got the radio, I bought a 14 ft. cat 6 cable to use in the mobile installation. I also tried an older cat 5 cable I had laying around and it still doesn't work.
