It has nothing to do with getting people to listen the feed does that on it's own. Sits in the 100 or more range each night. What the issues are is when a talkgroup comes on which RR.com doesn't allow it is automaticlly muted on the feed and the alpha tags say Broadcast Lockout (Proscan has a feature to do this) and then people start putting in audio issues because they hear nothing.
RR.com is not flexible when it comes to the rules so there is no other choice. Recently there was a small plane crash nearby and the police wanted to get the comms off the main dispatch channels so they used a TAC channel which happens often. Then all the people who wanted to listen (about 300) couldn't hear anything.
Not sure how it works in other PD's but the OPP use TAC channels to just get traffic off the main OPS channels sometimes.
I agree to NOT broadcast dedicated tactical, car-to-car, SWAT, narcotics, detectives or any other channels or talkgroups that are not routine dispatch or special events related. OPP TAC channels are not dedicated to any of these things but the rr.com owners never want to listen.
anyways now you know the story.
