Hello all, I've noticed that every so often reno fire will be on scene of say a fire alarm and request a channel, then they go to tac 1 and say "switch to" I think they say "A Fire D" or something like that, anyone know anything? is this is the first of the encryption?

I haven't noticed that recently. Everything I have heard has been Gold. Although there is 8 FIRE D, which is the state mutual aid for fire (800 mhz conv frequency).

They might be saying 8 fire d, I'll add that to my list, I've only heard it twice both on fire alarm calls

That's interesting. There may be trunked site issues. I heard REMSA repeaters were down after the big storm, so maybe agencies are trying to use conventional stuff to make it easier

Also, I just noticed this morning that SCSO has changed their unit identifiers to a 3-4 digit callsign instead of the David, Sam, Charles set up from before.
