Renton Highlands - Bad Reception

Programmed my parents scanner who are in the Renton Highlands - WA-900 area.... Scanner is a Uniden BC246T

Pluged in the talk-groups for Renton PD, King Co. SE Prec talk-group Sheriff and ValleyCom for ems/fire.

Used the recommended frequencies and added most freqs for the EPSCA Simulcast and KC/ValleyCom Simulcast.

The Problem: Wherever we go in the house, twiddle with the features, the reception is horrible. It will scan and hit on the channels but it is static and splotchy. No fun to listen to. However we can pick up parking patrol in Seattle, Bellevue EMS, and Seattle Center janitors loud and clear.


Is this a dead zone for scanning or are we doing something wrong. Tried every thing in the book.

make sure you have the right control channel and set to control channel only mode. also remember that the hand held with its antenna isn't the best indoors. the site you want is...
