To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This sounds to me like you are brand new to programming radios. First off, I think you have the wrong software. The current software for non MDC capible radios is V1.7, if the radio is newer (within the last 5yrs) then for MDC you need V2.1.

Open the program, on the top, go to help, select about, and see just what program, version you have.

In order to find out if your radio is MDC capible, connect it up, open the program, READ the radio, then click on information under the clone tab.
If the radio has MDC, then it will list it here.

I also have this program and it does not say any thing about MDC in the program title. MDC is used mainly in police, fire and other emergency services.

As for programing the main information into the radio, there is a help file that will walk you thu every thing you need.

In the first column, (ATR) do not do any thing. In the next do not do any thing. Next is the recieve frequency, in your case, it is 145.150, in the next put 145.750, next is tx inh, place a check here ONLY if you do not wish to transmit on the channel. Next, should be W for this frequency, next is recieve tone, on the ham bands, normally none, next is transmit tone, type in the 97.4. In text, type the repeater call sign. do not do any thing with the next two columns, in RF power, place H for high.

At this point, unless you are going to setup a bunch of channels to scan, you do not need to do any thing else.

Do all of the above for each channel/frequency you wish.

You are showing 1750 YES, what is that used for? Few repeaters use this type of code for the normal user. Check with the repeater owner/admin for it's use.

When all else falls, click on the help file.
