running a FT-7900 and have gone thru 3 mics, they just don't take the heat here (108 today)
Is there a way to use a commercial mic and rewire it fir the FT-7900?
I'm sick or buying mics ....

I don't know, I'd love to hear if there is.
I'm sure installing a new RJ plug would be required. Making sure bias voltage is correct and mic impedance, probably not hard to do.

But I've had the same issue with Yaesu microphones, and is one of the reasons I stopped buying their stuff. I went through a number of mic's for my old FT-2400, FT-2500 and one for my FT-7800. They get expensive after a while.
