Convention business has begun in Charlotte today, POTUS will be in Charlotte Monday so we can guess a "surprise" early visit from him. New and interesting aircraft starting to appear, such as N411DE, A4D827 Bell 412-HP helo spotted on TAR1090 this morning, belongs to the National Nuclear Security Admin/Dept of Energy.

Surprisingly, there are no active STA licenses active in the area or related to the convention. But, I'm sure a few temporary freqs will pop up.

Actually Central Division moved all protest related traffic to TAC last week,and it is still patched with CEU. At that time they said routine traffic would be on CONF. At least this time they left the other divisions alone.

There are similar craft used around here prior to the Marathon. They measure background radiation, then use the baseline against measurements taken during the event to identify anomalies.
