here is what i have read from various news outlets (both right and left wing outlets as well as middle of the road outlets) about what republicans want to do to social security, medicare, and medicaid. all of which will cost millions of jobs in the long run and lower the standard of living and medical care for millions of indigent, working poor, disabled, and retirees,,

1) Privatize Social Security by taking it out of the hands of the federal government and handing it over to wall street,,

2) change the yearly COLA calculations to chained cpi,,

3) Raise the retirement age,,

4) Means test benefits

5) Privatize medicare by taking it out of the hands of the federal government and handing it over to insurance industry in the form of vouchers which will not completely cover the cost of care,,

6) Raise the eligibility age,,

7) Block grant medicaid to the states which maybe won't be too bad in blue states but will be a disaster in red controlled states,,

want to call in forensic accountants to audit the programs and make sure the money is going where it should? fine,,

want to divorce the trust from the general fund and restore the more than 2 Trillion stolen by the bush administration for 2 failed wars? i have no issue with that,,

want to go after fraud, waste and abuse? you won't get no argument from be,,

want to ask billionaires, corporations and wall street to pay their fair share (they currently pay on just the first $119,000) into the programs? no argument here,,

but cuts, privatization, means testing, block granting, etc? me and billions of others in this country are going to use every legal democratic means available to us to fight you like hell!!!

making cuts, privatizing, block granting and other steps intended to be a stepping stone toward devaluing these programs and ending them is not the way to go.

it will cost millions of jobs, and lower the standard of living of millions more.

it might even plunge us into another great recession, and on the worst end of the scale a great depression.

lets not forget 2008 and 1929. these both were direct causes from 4 previous years of republican controlled leadership.

and these were the only two times in history when the country was under republican leadership in this country.

Austerity, Tax Cuts for the Rich, Privatizing everything you can get your hands on does not work.

Ok, if your completely against the Republican party and what it stands for, then you must be for chaining up African Americans and putting them back to work on the plantations. Abraham Lincoln was a Republican ya know, and I think this country and the world would be a sad place if he did not become president. Yup, we know about your kind and what you stand for. I'll stick with President Lincoln's party.

You would prefer communism as opposed to a free market? You're in the wrong country dude. Not a political forum here, go cry at CNN.com.
