Hi Gang,
Have been scanning Calgary for many years and finally got the APCO25 about 4 months ago. Loving it and have it all programmed. However, I can't seem to find an ID for CPS A9. Hoping someone has it.

Also if I can be of assistance to anyone please ask.

Cheers

I believe CPS programs different channels in various slots depending on what group/unit has the radio. For example a traffic unit has A9 as Traffic 1, a Tac unit might have A9 as Tac At-Scene. They seem to do this with a bunch of the talkgroups and groups/units.

Welcome to the site, hope you like it here! :)

So that means the ID changes then?? I've herd regular zone cars "go to A9". Is there a way to hear them?

And thanks for the welcome Jay. I will try to contribute as best I can.

Yes, you should still be able to hear them, unless they go to an encrypted talkgroup. The regular zone patrol units have TRAFFIC 1 programmed into slot A9. The id for TRAFFIC 1 in Uniden format is 34128.

As Jay pointed out, other department groups (Tactical, detectives, etc.) would have different talkgroups programmed into slot A9 on their radios. But as far as we know, all of the regular patrol units have TRAFFIC 1 in slot A9.
