If only I had three scanners with recorders........ I witnessed and listened to the entire operation from right across the river and it was excellently coordinated..... but to actually watch "Trooper 5" from The (Cumberland) Maryland State Police hover above a burning 976' smokestack that had a 45 foot crane on top of it..... I watched it with binoculers and could actually see the three subjects anxiously awaitng rescue.... The chopper dropped its basket three times and in about 5-7 minutes they were gone...... ( there was a CBS affiliate right next to me videotaping the whole thing).... it is a must see but to actually hear the trapped men communicating to the ground while fire completely surrounded them was amazing.

On another note, one person did not make it out so that obviously dampens the mood quite a bit.
