At 10:30 HRS CDT this date, a pilot for County Rescue Services - Eagle III, headquartered in Bellevue, Wisconsin, near our nothern states Chapel Rectory, was starting a test flight in one of their reserve Rescue Helicopters when a mechanical failure cause the craft to crash near their helipad. The pilot was the only individual on board at the time and was pronounced dead an hour later at the local emergency hospital.
No one from the ground crew was injured. The rest of the crew said in a press release that this tragedy will not stop their Life Flight Services and that they will remain on duty with their main helocopter for community service to those who need them.
FAA inspectors are arriving at this hour and will do a full investigation surrounding the engine failure which took the life of a well known pilot in the community.
Please join with our Chapel members in praying for the family of this pilot and for his fellow workers at County Rescue Services - Eagle III.
