Resistor question

I have to replace a resistor. Its a really small one like a mini resistor. Can I replace it with one of the same value but is normal size or does it need to be a mini resistor?

Bigger (Size) just means it can handle more (heat) Wattage

So the answer would be YES, as long as you have ROOM in the devlice

A bigger resistor isn't normally a problem. As was stated, its benefit is that of greater wattage/heat dissipation. Keep in mind that you can often stand a resistor on end and fold one of the leads down to fit a smaller horizontal space if vertical space permits. If you do this, its not a bad idea to put some heat shrink tubing or some type of insulator on the top lead to prevent short against another component or case.
