So the key can be made up of anything as long as it's 64 characters you're saying?

I thought everyone used offsite storage for backups. There are free and pay online sites where you can store gigibit amount of information. I have flashdrives with tons of encrypted data and I carry a PDA that syncs datafiles everyday. If something happens where I lose everything, backups included, I won't be here to worry about it.pinetree said:It would seem to me that if he lost his computer he would also have lost his e-mail along with everything else that he needs to work with. 2 months is not a lot of time to get everything back.

Don requested that anyone using his software to keep a copy of their key in a safe place besides their computer, so if you have a computer meltdown your key will be readily available.

Let's hear it - who are all the paying customers that didn't receive a reg key? I would think this forum would be flooded with replies based on the amount of squawking that's been going on for days now - yet another poster asked for the same thing and all I've heard so far is:

I'll concede that he should have found a way to answer his email by now, and I find it odd that he hasn't. But I think the claims of people being "ripped off" are exaggerated and generally unfounded. I could be wrong though, so I'm asking for proof. If anyone has mailed in a check for a reg key and the check has cleared but NO reg key came back, let's hear it. If that's the case then there's cause for concern, but I seriously doubt Don would do such a thing.

When you register, you will be issued a unique key that will allow Win96 to run past its 30-day trial period. DO NOT LOSE THIS KEY. You will need it any time you wish to install Win96 (new computer, new operating system, computer crash, etc.). In many cases, we can re-issue a registration key upon emailed request, but this is not guaranteed and may not get you a prompt response.
