Radio Babes have have always been a hit :giggle:

I have that very radio in photo #1--an Atwater Kent... works beautifully still...

(The picture above I use in my RR Forum profile.... she was quite the girl !---- note the gas lamp over her table... any guess's how she is powering her spark transmitter if the house was plumbed for gas ? :) )

Lauri

Maybe a few dozen wet cells under the table, maybe some knob and tube wiring as another poster suggested.. either way
let's hope that gas fixture is either valved off or lit while she's transmitting!!

And here's my contribution today... might bring back some nostalgia for some. This is Art Bell, longtime radio host of Coast to Coast AM, an overnight radio show syndicated around the world. He lived in a compound in the County of Nye in Nevada where he had a large antenna Farm.

Many a night when I rotated shifts and worked a 12 to 8, I would listen and enjoy his shows. Actually many a night when I worked day shift I would listen to him all night.

The show is still on today with George Noory (snorey) but I rarely listen as I find it boring and the topics unimaginative. I will listen to some of the guest hosts on the weekend as they're all very interesting and follow more closely to the theme of Art Bell.

He has passed on now for a number of years but I hope this brings back memories and interest.
Art Bell and Larry Glick (WBZ-AM Boston) got me hooked on late-night talk radio way back when. Two legends.
