Revel Casino (Atlantic City)

The casino will have a grand opening very soon. Here are the frequencies that they are using. It is some type of trunked system but I have had no luck picking the system up. Anyone have any idea how to program it?

If you go to the FCC license and click on the frequency tab and then click
on the frequencies they all have the regular FM emission designator and
since there are only 4 freq pairs its most likely a LTR or similar type of
trunking(that is if it is trunking) or perhaps conventional repeaters.

Revel is using the dreaded MOTOTRBO. The security guards love the 3 foot antennas under their dress coats.

Are they using MOTOTRBO on those 800 MHz frequencies on the license, or on some other frequencies? Do you know if they are using conventional TRBO repeaters or Capacity Plus?

They are using the 800 MHz frequencies with repeaters. When I see the radio guy again I'll ask. I know Revel was pushing for system that nobody can monitor. Revel did put in amplifiers for Atlantic City PD and FD system but not for EMS which is still using simplex VHF.

I was just in the Revel this morning at work. Their sound quality sounds pretty decent, and the antenna on the security guards XPR6550 was a stubby one, only about 3"

I guess sarcasm does not translate well when you type it. Every radio was delivered with the full size 800/GPS antenna. When the GPS mode did not work in the building they started replacing the antennas. The radio system does sound good and this is coming from a non MOTOTRBO fan.

Oh yeah, I forgot that the GPS antenna was bigger, even in the 800mhz. I wasn't a fan either, but after hearing it in a different band-split, in an environment it was actually made for, I like it. I'm sure it works a lot better than the TRBO system I'm used to...

The units sound better when the Earphone Connection ear pieces are used. When people use the radios alone tend to hold them to close and yell for some reason. The other down side is the system was not set up to have "talk around" capabilities. So if the computer or repeaters go down they have zero radio communication.

Oh good lord. We have people that still think you have to yell into the radio as if it's a 1980's cell phone. It's pretty bad when the speaker actually distorts at its lowest volume...
