I just reverted back too the old BCD396T_V1_10_01.scn that i found. The BCD396T_V1_11_03.scn firmware changes were great in some area's, but lack performance in other areas. Not complaining, I'm sure their are some great advantages and benefits too the current upgrade, but not for me, not for now. The AGC digital and analog settings with our ALMR VHF 9600bps P25 trunking system, just too much of a hassle with toggling the correct settings for the system. The firmware for the VHF 9600bps P25 trunking system that i had before had crisp and clear audio, didn't have too tweak anything. After i updated too the BCD396T_V1_11_03.scn As some else mention on the forum, i seen talk groups coming up with no audio, just "LNK" for seconds without decoding them. In which i didn't really see too often before the upgrade. Also the sensitivity seemed too decreased in the 150-174mhz, and the 856-866mhz bands. With choppy reception in the VHF 9600bps P25 trunking system, cutting-out and missing transmissions. Also experiencing negative audio qualities using the resp and gain settings. The P25 Response Time: -7
P25 Reference Gain: +3 settings i thought were close too sounding like the pro-96, just didn't match up as well as i thought it did. For now I'll deal with what i have, that being the BCD396T_V1_10_01.scn file

If you reverted back to v1.10 and see a problem with the 1.11 firmware you will be using the 1.10 firmware for the life of the scanner because every firmware update v1.11 and above will include the updates of v1.11. This is the first time I have read any sensitivity
related issues with v1.11.

Uniden's revision notes do say that they "improve[d] scanning when there are adjacent strong signals". Maybe the improvement isn't universal for all areas of the country. Improvement for some, degradation for others.

I have noticed a similar decrease of sensitivity to some degree while in metropolitan and rural areas.

I have noticed a big change for the worst with the sensitivity in the 800 band especially. I hope the new (upgrade)? will restore it.

ANOTHER unhapp

I, too, have had about the worst experience with this scanner to date, with the 1.11.03 firmware. I even reverted back to 1.10 but it is still just as bad now. I seem to be stuck with the same issue now even with the older firmware.

Before upgrading to 1.11.03, I had perfect decode of all audio on the 9600 P25 systems here in Minnesota. IMMEDIATELY after I upgraded to 1.11.03, it went to crap. I will catch about 10-25% of the conversations on any talkgroup. Mind you, I have full signal strength, and have tried everywhere in the cities ... even next to one of the towers hosting a control channel. Horrible decoding ... will stall on LNK quite often, with the amplifier cutting in and out (thinking it's no longer receiving a transmission) making the speaker click.

It is so frustrating, I end up just shutting the scanner off. Absolutely nothing has changed. Antenna is the same, signal strength shows the same ... but the decoding and usability of this scanner is unusable now, at best. For the $550 I spent, I was happy after Uniden fixed the original 10,000+ talkgroup ID issue, and from then on. But until now. I am no longer happy.

Audio Much Clearer

I also made the switch back to V10.0.01 this morning and I noticed right away the audio is much clearer, I am monitoring the Indiana Hoosier SafeT system.

Up until now, most everyone having problems with the new firmware update have been monitoring 9600 baud systems. So I am surprised to see this one. I also monitor SAFE-T and I have better audio after the 1.11.03 update. Plus I actually have AGC now too.

What tower(s) are you listening to? I listen to Hortonville and Indianapolis.

I am listening off the Central IN towers, I also thought there was quite abit of improvement when I went to version 1.11.03, but after going backwards the audio is so much clearer, I also noticed that the emergency alert status is not activating after one of these updates.
