I have been considering purchasing Win97 a software program designed for the RadioShack Pro-197. I am currently using Scan Cat lite and to say the least I am a bit disappointed.

The download and install directions for Win97 appear to me a bit daunting.

Just looking for some feedback and Win97 and possibly a heads up on other software that may be a bit more user friendly at least for computer novices.

Thanks for your time and responses.

It would appear that you are totally confused (or I am).

You state that "I have been considering purchasing Win97 a software program designed for the RadioShack Pro-197." This is NOT correct. Win97 is designed for the Pro-97, 2055, 164 and 163 and GRE 300 and 400.

Win500, another program by Starrsoft, is designed for the PSR 500 and 600 and the PRO-106 and 197. So if you have a PRO-197 then you need Win500. By the way, a very good program.

I have a Pro 97 and I use WIN 97. I like it. I find it very easy to use. I can't believe I ever programed a scanner by hand after using software. Go for it.

I have been using win-97 for so long I don't think I could remember how to program by hand anymore, what use to take me an hour, now takes half that time, and with the web import feature it's a fraction of that.
