Greeting All,

I am revisting my General receiver and was interested to know if anyone has noticed any difference between Software of the Radio Shack Pro 197 and the Pro 652.

Both ARC500 and PSREdit500 work with the GRE PSR-500, Radio Shack PRO-106, Radio Shack PRO-651, and Whistler WS1040 handheld scanners. They also work with the GRE PSR-600, Radio Shack PRO-197, Radio Shack PRO-652, and Whistler WS1065 base/mobile scanners. All of the scanners previously mentioned are essentially the same and are based on the original GRE PSR-500 and GRE PSR-600 design. GRE made the PRO-106 and PRO-197 for Radio Shack. After GRE went out of business, Whistler bought the design rights from GRE and then made the PRO-651 and PRO-652 for Radio Shack. The PRO-106 was renamed the PRO-651 and the PRO-197 was renamed the PRO-652 after the manufacturing change.

Greeting,
So, If I understand the feedback as of so far
The Radio Shack Pro 197 and the Pro 652 units "software" are all the same internally for the most part...
That One is clonable to the other either, And except for a little difference in the lower bands in the receivers
they will work side by side together. Is this my understanding?

The GRE manufactured PRO-197 and Whistler manufactured PRO-652 use different firmware. Any of the scanners in my post #4 can be cloned to each other including mobiles to handhelds and handhelds to mobiles.
