RF Amplifier use?

Hello, has anyone used a Ramsey PRE02 amplifier? I am toying with the idea of getting one. Success or failures welcome. Best location found? At scanner or antenna, etc.

The best place for a PRE-amplifier is at the antenna. But due to the cost of running weather protected power to it, as well as weather protecting it, it is best to place it near the scanner, with just a short jumper connection.

Thanks, i have it in my attic so i have no issues with weather, I was hoping someone has some feedback as to whether or not its worth the price.
