    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued.     To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

    This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Good antenna. You'll be pleased. Yeah, I'm not sure what you're meaning by FCC approved, which Matt touched on.

There used to be a requirement to 'register' that you have a booster with your carrier (AT&T or whomever). If I recall correctly they had a form on their site somewhere where you could do it. I'm not sure if the requirement still exists or not, and doing so didn't do anything other than tell them you were using it. I'm not sure why it was required but I recall when I got a Wilson/weboost booster once it had a document in there directing me to register it. EDIT: Still a requirement, I guess... Here is the page on weboost's site about it, last updated a couple of months ago: How do I register my booster with my cell service provider?

It was to help the cell carriers locate interference. BDA's are a common source of interference/noise. I think the idea was that it would make it easier for them to track down issues.
-I doubt most consumers would bother to do it.
-Would be sort of pointless in a mobile application.

Yeah, mine is mobile so that was my thought. The one we have at our cabin, there's no address so...hard to pinpoint that one, too, unless they have a place for coordinates. :D

I registered mine within a few hours of figuring I was not going to return the booster. I'd hate to be the cause of problems on the network.

Success...:). The cell booster works better now with the NMO mount. With the mag mount occasionally the amp would start with a flashing red then green. Now with NMO mount and antenna the amp starts with solid green.

Finished installing the NMO mount and routing the cable. Compared to the Breedlove NMO mount the Larsen was a piece of cake. The Breedlove needed the headliner removed. I my truck that's the very last piece of interior to come out after everything else. That was a full weekend project.

Here is a pic of the tool I used to deburr the under side of the hole if you haven't seen one. I can post a link if anyone is interested.

The push button above the ECT button is the power switch for the amp. A lot more convenient than the supplied switch on the 12V pug.

The cell boost amp fit with a 1/4 " to spare between the seat mount bracket. Was a little worried at first.

I did a few test transmits on 2m to see if it effected the cell booster. Nothing obviously looked wrong but I have no idea or equipment to test properly. I suspect the cell booster and HAM radio should coexist just fine.

Anyway thank you all with helping make this project a success.
