Hi, I'm new to scanning and am putting an antenna outside, I am using a bearcat mobile scanner in the house and it calls for rg58 cable, if i use rg59 instead will there be a problem the cable run will be about 45 feet overall. Thanks for the help.

Many are using the RG-59 without any problems. On my scanners, and receivers, I use it myself. On my transceivers, I use 50 ohm coax, depending on the frequency, determines which 50 ohm coax I use.
