It appears that all transmissions have ceased within the last couple of days for the Richardson Fire Department… I”ve been listening using a Uniden SDS-100 and the broadcastify feed and both are now silent. I assume this means that everything in this city is now locked down and encrypted?

Have you been watching the SDS display screen for the ENC icon?

No I have not as transmissions are fairly infrequent. I think I have a broken scanner as there is an error code C71h flashing. I reset scanner and now all I have is static. So the famous “cold-solder joint” problem? Still does not explain the broadcasting feed being silent yet “online” as well.

I reset my radio and then reprogrammed and the error code is gone so who know what malfunction that was. I am now receiving again.

I really appreciate the help with confirming that the transmissions were being received by others and that it was my radio all along.

I don't think the flashing "C17h" is an error code, but the P-25 network access code (NAC) of the transmission you were listening to.

Sounds plausible, it has happened intermittently and each time it does the radio goes silent until I reboot the radio. This might be what has knocked the broadcastify feed off as well.

This looks like the beginning of joining Richardson to NTIRN. Richardson has been GE conventional -> EDACS -> Harris P25 for many decades.

It would make more sense if Richardson moved to NTIRN. Currently, they have backup TGIDs on PAWMCo.

I suppose, that with a large common border with Garland, GMRS might be considered, but NTIRN would be a better choice in the long run.

I haven't seen any indication of that, even though it would make sense to join another system while they're at it. The new site that is up on 852.375 has WACN ID 781824 (BEE00h) , System ID 3188 (C74h) (RFSS ID 1, Site ID 1. I can barely receive them in NE Tarrant.

Unless @Russell beats me to it, I'll throw it in my template for submission when I get back home later today.

I also see 7 radios that have registered, but only 2 affiliated with talk groups - 31200 and 31402 (And 31042 is Fire Dispatch on the old Phase I system). No voice comms, so I'm not seeing Radio Names yet to potentially identify the users.

@mwjones. You're the man Mike ... I just tore the last remaining bits of my office down for SMR (Spousal Mandated Remodeling). My QTH won't be back up for a month. I'm on a laptop and handhelds. Richardson is my home town. I know a lot of history.
